Who We Are
Diverse Justice Consulting Group LLC (DJCG) is a Columbus, Ohio–based consulting firm specializing in juvenile justice reform, corrections (adult and juvenile), reentry services, and community-based programming. We partner with courts, agencies, correctional systems, and community organizations to build programs that are evidence-informed, culturally responsive, and grounded in the belief that transformation is possible for every person who walks through a system's doors. DJCG was founded on a simple but unwavering conviction: the justice system must do more than process people — it must invest in them. Our work sits at the intersection of policy, practice, and lived experience, and we bring all three
to every engagement.
DJCG provides consulting, training, program development, and technical assistance across the full arc of justice involvement — from prevention and diversion through detention, incarceration, and community reintegration. We work with juvenile courts, adult corrections agencies, community-based organizations, and systems partners to design and implement programming that works.
Every DJCG engagement is anchored in the Diverse Justice Transformational Framework™ (DJTF) — a proprietary implementation lens that filters every program design, training delivery, and systems consultation through four non-negotiable principles: Trauma-Informed Care - Recognize and respond to trauma without re-traumatizing, Cultural Responsiveness- Honor identity, community, and lived experience in every interaction, Healing-Centered Engagement -Lead with strengths, resilience, and collective healing Evidence-Based Practice Use what works — validated programs, fidelity, measurable outcomes.

Tresalyn Butler-Sharp MS, ATP, CTP
Founder, Diverse Justice Consulting Group
Master of Science in Criminal Justice | Specialization in Corrections & Rehabilitation
Tresalyn Butler-Sharp, MS, ATP, CTP is a seasoned criminal justice professional with over two decades of experience in corrections, juvenile justice, and community-based programming. She began her career with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, serving more than 15 years as a Deputy Sheriff, followed by four years as the agency's first Director of Social Services, where she led efforts to expand rehabilitative programming and behavioral health initiatives.
She currently serves in a senior leadership role within a county court system, directing a department focused on family and youth services — overseeing specialty dockets, juvenile detention alternative initiatives, grants, programming, transportation access services, reentry services, and behavioral health initiatives for justice-involved youth and their families.

Makaylah Winter
Consultant
Makaylah Winter, MSCJ is a criminal justice consultant with deep expertise in rehabilitative programming, reentry services, and juvenile justice reform. She spent several years with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, where she played a central role in building therapeutic communities and developing rehabilitative and reentry programming for incarcerated individuals.
Makaylah now serves in a leadership role within a county court system, where she leads juvenile detention alternative and reentry initiatives. In this role, she champions evidence-based, community-centered approaches that reduce unnecessary detention and support successful reintegration for young people. Drawing on years of hands-on experience inside correctional systems and court settings, Makaylah brings a practitioner's perspective to consulting engagements — helping agencies, organizations, and courts build programs that are both humane and effective.
Tascha Sharp
Consultant
Tascha Sharp is a Columbus, Ohio–based professional, advocate, and mentor whose life and work reflect resilience, accountability, and a deep commitment to serving others. For more than 25 years, she has mentored individuals through life's hardest transitions—drawing on her own journey, including nearly nine years of incarceration at the Ohio Reformatory for Women, to meet people with honesty, compassion, and hope. A skilled communicator and motivational speaker, she earned an Applied Associate degree in Business Management from Columbus State Community College and a Bachelor's degree in Organizational Communications from Franklin University. Her professional background spans customer service, administration, and team leadership—including roles with American Electric Power, where she trained and mentored staff—and she brings strong conflict-resolution, presentation, and interpersonal skills to every space she enters. Tascha believes transformation is possible for everyone, and she uses her voice and lived experience to empower others to reclaim their stories and build futures rooted in purpose.
