Reentry is not a moment. It is a process — one that begins long before release and extends well into the period of community reintegration. DJCG works with reentry programs, corrections agencies, courts, and community partners to design and strengthen reentry systems that are trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and built on the real support needs of returning citizens rather than compliance checklists.
The Problem
Most reentry systems are built around supervision and compliance requirements rather than the actual barriers individuals face when returning to community: housing instability, lack of employment, unaddressed behavioral health needs, fractured family relationships, and the absence of trusted community connections.
