Behavioral Health &
Trauma-Informed Care

Individualized, stabilization-centered care for justice-involved individuals.

Services Overview

Behavioral health needs are among the most pervasive — and most chronically unmet — in justice-involved populations. An estimated 7 in 10 youth in detention have a diagnosable mental health condition. The adult population in jails and prisons carries similar burdens. DJCG's behavioral health consulting is anchored in the SA 2 Behavioral Health framework, including the Individualized Support Structures (ISS) and Comprehensive Support Integration (CSI) models — designed to produce genuine stabilization, not just symptom management.

The Problem

Systems that criminalize behavioral health needs rather than treating them produce predictable outcomes: cycling involvement, escalating crises, and a widening gap between the services available and the needs that actually drive system contact. Many agencies want to do better but lack the structured framework, trained staff, and cross-system coordination to make it happen.

Our Approach

DJCG provides implementation support for the SA 2 Behavioral Health framework — including readiness assessment, individualized support plan development, interdisciplinary team formation, cross-setting implementation, and ongoing fidelity monitoring — all grounded in the DJTF's four pillars.
